van Heeswijk At every occasion when Hans van Heeswijk gets the chance, he explains why being an architect is the nicest profession he can imagine. It all begins with a telephone call. Someone needs a building, an interior or bridge. There are surroundings to fit in. In the mind a spatial idea takes shape. Putting that on paper starts a dialogue. In consultation a design emerges. A plan develops into a project. Building that makes it all tangible and real. At a certain moment it all exists. A structure now defines a space that wasn't there before, on a spot that has been there forever. Surroundings changed as well or adapted. The collaboration has been successful, the idea has become reality. Floor plans, sections, perspectives and models now can be experienced at full scale. Nothing could be nicer. After graduation at the Technical University in Delft in 1980, the next step for Hans van Heeswijk is Amsterdam, apprenticing with Aldo van Eyck. After four years enough experience to start an office of one's one. That succeeds and grows. This website shows the recent state of affairs. Joy in the profession has grown with it. By analyzing complex commissions to organize order and clear things up. To create a logic that wasn't there before and wants to be realized. The broad field of work provides clients, users and designers the variety and surprise that keeps building together exciting. All over again, at every occasion. |
