The IJdoorn residential block is wonderfully situated in green surroundings. The building offers proof that gallery-access apartments are eminently suited to last a lifetime. One can live here pleasantly and comfortably late into life for an attractively low rent. Residents were very content and, as a result, had no desire to see major changes carried out.

The approach to the IJdoorn complex is modest and focuses on upgrading the residential comfort and strengthening the basic qualities. Alterations encompassed improvements to the main entrance and staircase, the application of a balanced and timeless colour scheme, improvements to the facade insulation, and the installation of home automation systems. These mean that people can continue to live independently as they get older. What works doesn’t need to be changed, just improved.
