Bauhaus Museum Weimar
The origin of this design is the exhibition poster of 1923. A composition of three distinct building structures based on squares of the same poster. Each building has its own function. The smallest, a black granite cube, contains the museum shop and the administration offices. The middle-sized glass cube contains all public and accessible areas. Finally, the exhibition rooms and depots with the art collection are located in the largest silver cube. All three cubes are connected underground.
Approaching the museum from the city center, visitors first walk to the entrance hall in the center of the building, from which all other parts of the museum can be reached. Whether you want to go to the exhibition rooms right away, or first go to the museum shop or go to the cafe to enjoy a cup of coffee between the trees; visitors can easily orientate themselves and understand what the museum has to offer. This makes the new Bauhaus Museum user-friendly and inviting.
