ing. Arjen Honig Project Assistant
Our office is very capable of arriving at a ‘clear’ building on every occasion. Our added value as architects is that, amidst the spatial chaos, we can discern a pattern that suits the scale of the building — where is the heart, where can we offer occupants a firm footing and an overview. The most exciting moment in the process is right at the start when we present the client an idea that has yet to find its form. That form emerges in unison with the client. After all, without a shared vision there can be no concrete design. My role really starts as soon as the ‘good idea’ has to be designed through in terms of building technology — think of defining the structure, proposing materials and so on. What makes projects all the more fascinating is that you can constantly make connections with colleagues, engineers and clients. That means you can speak the language of each of these parties. Variation like that keeps you alert, with every new project.
