Interior Design CEC Ganzenhoef
A collective building for 24 tenants, like this Cultural & Educational Centre in the southeast of Amsterdam, requires a clear approach to its interior design. The place should provide individual spaces that are recognizable and retraceable while still remaining a comprehensive whole. The Regional Educational Centre is by far the largest organization and has the largest number of regular visitors. These people know their way around and therefore the Centre is situated on the top floor.
Centre Ganzenhoef is a compact building that houses many different functions. Inside, the building opens up its arms to embrace visitors. The interior design guarantees that everyone can find their way without disturbing others. Colourful counters with bold graphics indicate the destination from afar.
The atrium and central staircase provide logical and well-organized routes throughout the building. The atrium not only functions as a centre of circulation but also can be used for meetings or exhibitions. The thin transparency of the foil roof contributes to the public atmosphere and open character of the building.
