De Boel Head Office Vesteda
On the first floor of the apartment building, De Boel in Amsterdam is an office space realized of approximately 3,000m2. The North facade extends over 150 meters along the De Boelelaan, and behind the elongated South facade are beautiful large trees. The office space is directly opposite the bridge connecting Buitenveldert to the Zuidas and Amsterdam Zuid station.
Where the offices of the Zuidas are situated behind closed facades, almost ‘hiding’ which company is located where De Boel offices provide the opportunity for visibility and connection to its surroundings through the orientation on both facades. The old office spaces were hidden behind an unattractive facade and were only accessible through an undersized entrance. The now fully glazed facades and four spacious entrances provide access to a flexible office floor. The interior was completely stripped, which makes the original concrete structure visible and shows the generous height and clarity of the original concrete structure. On the ground floor, glass doors replace the closed garage doors; behind it, office space has been realized. In this way, the somber and closed plinth has been transformed into an open and attractive street view.
The client Vesteda has established its new headquarters in the building and Axeco has joined De Boel as a new tenant.
The murals in the offices were made by 'Pipsqueak was here!!!'.
The mural 'De Boel' on the side elevation was made by Victor Ash
